Obstacle avoidance was always a stretch goal for our team. Obstacle avoidance requires some kind of vision, either by a camera, radar, proximity sensor or something else. We had none of these implemented and we would have had to develop it in a very short time, so because of the problems encountered on day 4 we decided not to race.
But it was a good day just to observe the other teams and see their approach and to go out on the water.
In fact no team managed to successfully avoid the obstacle, either the teams did not reach the obstacle or they did it the obstacle when it was placed in the path of the boat.
